オーケストラ音源集 Complete Classical Collection を購入。
内容は、オーケストラ専用音源「アドバンストオーケストラ（以降AO）」というセットでそろえれば10万円近くもした音源や「クワイヤライブラリ～」オーケストラ系の古のSamplingCDがどかどか入って合計20万円ぐらいのところを時代も変わったので、4万円でご奉仕というソフトウェア音源です。
しかし・・使いにくいよ・・・。音が悪いよ・・・。
音自体は98年頃に発売された音源だけあって、さすがに最新の音源と比べると、透明感に限界を感じるところもあるんですが・・。要はリアルさを追及するために買ったのではなく、バックで重厚な雰囲気を持たせるためのサブ音源として買ったので問題はないかと思ったのですが・・。
奏法自体は数多くあります。GIGAライブラリみたいに、C1キーで奏法を瞬時に変更できるシステムも考えてあるんですが、35しか鍵盤がないキーボードでどうC1に変えろと？61鍵でも無理だと思います。88フル鍵盤を買わないとあまり使えない機能・・・。
あとは、例えばトランペットだろうがチューバだろうが、バイオリンだろうがコントラバスだろうが全部同じキー位置に配置されちゃってるので、今まで作ったMIDI資産をこの音源の為に作り変えなければなりません。
インストールには10GBも使うのにサンプル自体は10MBとかばっかりで、どう見ても1GBぐらいしか使ってないように見えるんですが・・気のせいですか？
クワイヤ音源の方も、他の音源でもある「アー」はともかく「ムー」とか「ウー」という音が欲しかった為に買ったはずなんですが、リバーブがかかりすぎて、全部「アー」に聞こえる気がする。100人編成のクワイヤ音源！と名打ってますが、響きすぎです。
ということで・・期待してた音源ではあったんですが、ハズレでした。
AOというと、オーケストラ音源では超有名で数々のPCM音源にも移植された大物だったのですがね・・。
もうソフトウェア音源は買うのはよそうと思います。
将来、64BitPCに移行できるかも不安ですし、ハードウェア音源に比べると性能はいいんですが。
