とりあえずは、明日がんばれば土日2連休。お疲れ様。3～4時間睡眠がずっと続いていたので寝まくります。永遠に寝ないようにだけ気をつけておきます。
そういえば、先日一年ぶりにノートPCを引っ張りだしてきたらDVDドライブの中に
Landmarks of Early Film 1が入っていたんで、観てみた。
ついでなので、Landmarks of Early Film 2も同時に観たんだけど、やはり無声映画は眠くなりますな。
2～3日かけて寝る前にノートPCで観たんだけど、観ながら寝てしまった。
やはり何度観てもストーリー性を持っていて面白いのはジョルジュ=メリエスの「月世界旅行」「不可能を通る旅」かな。未知の世界へ行くというストーリーは観ている方は本当に面白いと思う。
ジュールヴェルヌの「月世界旅行」の時代(1860年代)やメリエスの「月世界旅行」が作られた1902年でも、大砲の弾が人工的な物体が最速で移動するものだったと思う。大砲の弾に人が乗ったらGで人が死んでしまうとかそういう物理的な法則はSFだから必要ないし、着眼点は良いと思う。
後者の「不可能～」も、蒸気機関車が宇宙へ飛んでいくというのは無茶苦茶だけど、大量輸送手段といえば船か馬車か機関車の時代だから納得がいく。
まだ1904年なので、自動車も欧米のような先進国にしか見られない希少な乗り物だったはずなのに、劇中ではバスのようなものが出てきて登場する。冷凍庫も出てくるし、潜水艦のような帰還船も出てくる。実用的な潜水艇は19世紀末にはあったと思ったけど、まだ世界最新技術のモノであったはず。
このへんは以前、同じよう話をしたことがあるのでこれぐらいにしておく。
と、まあ今でこそ当たり前に見えるだろうけど、フリッツ=ラングの「メトロポリス」のTV電話や未来都市のようにその時代で考え得るものを先取りしたSFといえるから何度観ても飽きないんだと思う。
もう我々が生まれた頃からそうだけど、ハリウッドの影響でとりあえず無敵のヒーローと銃撃戦をすれば映画として成り立つという風潮は、この時代のヨーロッパの作品にはほとんど見られない。すでにアメリカでは「大列車強盗」とかの作品で銃撃戦があるけど。
アメリカはそういう銃撃戦作品はアメリカ独自の個性の一つだと思う。アメリカ人＝銃とまで思うのは偏見だろうけど、銃を持てる機会がある国なわけである。
でも、邦画等で真似をするのはおかしいと思う。日本では、銃なんてものは圧倒的多数の人はお目にかかれないものだし、関係の無い物である。
そんな国（日本）でドンパチをするストーリーは滑稽だと思う。
特にカッコイイ男優とかが拳銃を持ってポーズをキメて現れるのは、見ている者に対して本能的に「銃を持つとカッコイイ」ということを訴えているように見えてしまう。製作者がそういう意図で訴えていなくてもだ。
まさに劇中でうまそうにコーラを飲むシーンがあったら視聴者がコーラを飲みたくなるアレだと思う。
話の流れが「映画の銃撃戦について」に変わってしまったので、本筋に戻すと、初期の映画作品のように未来や未知への探求をテーマにする作品がどんどん出てきて欲しいなと思ってまする。
